What does Wanderlust mean to you?
To me, Wanderlust is a forum for exploration. A festival that encourages both attendants and teachers to explore the landscape, the soundscape, teaching styles, one another...It's an exciting opportunity to celebrate the best that the yoga world, the music world, and mother nature has to offer.
What do you dig most about the combination of yoga and music?
What I dig most about the combo of music and yoga: That anyone involved in either one is looking to express themselves, often without words. Music provides the soundscape for the movement of bodies within the yoga practice, and yoga provides the shapes for the bodies to interpret the music in whatever form each person chooses to take. It's the perfect marriage. One lends itself perfectly to the other, making both more interesting.
What gets you excited about this year's festival?
On a personal level, I am excited to make the journey to Tahoe (I have never been before). As far as the festival is concerned, I am excited that last year was such a success that we get to do it all over again round deux!
Three favorite things in the world right now?
My three favorite things in the world right now are my mom, sunsets, and laughter.
Something your students might not know about you?
My students might not know that I played basketball in college. OR that I studied Econ at the University of Chicago and graduated from Columbia in NYC. I almost ended up on Wall Street. Eek!
What's your personal mantra?
My personal mantra is:
Forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair.
